Heaven, I'm in heaven...  and the cares that hung around me through the week, seem to vanish like a gambler's lucky streak, when we're out together dancing cheek to cheek....

If you're in the mood for the great outdoors this long weekend, make your way over to the Manly Jazz Festival, (link to the program and map below). 

Friday, the Swing Pit crew in Newtown are ready to get your weekend off to a swinging start.  This year the Deco Dance is on Friday at the Marrickville Hardcourt Tennis Club with DJs and Geoff Bull's band. 

Saturday, Australian Swing Dance Championships will be at Petersham RSL.  If you're feeling abundantly energetic there's Harbourside Jump at the Bar at the End of the Wharf.  'Round midnight, SLX Uplate is over at the Camelot Lounge with the Cope Street Parade playing! 

Sunday, if you're in the area, The Moods are playing at the Mona Vale Bowling Club.  Geoff Bull will be cutting it with his finest at East Sydney Hotel.  Get into your best PJs Sunday night and stay up late with Hetty Kate from Melbourne at PJam, Camelot Lounge. 

Monday, more Manly Jazz.  Tuesday, back to work for some rest...

This Friday, drop in at Jump Jive and Wail, at the Landsdowne Hotel, the floor's available 'til 2am, if you are.  There’s NO Swing Pit or Swing at the Roxbury this weekend, but still plenty on this Sunday!  Speakeasy Sundays is back at the Standard Hotel, w/Cope St Parade, Christa Hughes and more.  Dress up! and check out the Phantom Dancer at Eliza Five, Newtown, for a night of authentic early swing and jazz - there's a dance floor.  On the other side of town, the Western Sydney Dance Championships, 11am-5pm, Parramatta RSL.  The Harold Park Hotel at Glebe is putting on some Sunday Arvo Jazz, 3pm.  If you're in the area, The Moods will be up north at Avalon Bowling Club.  And of course, Geoff Bull and the Finer Cuts will be at East Sydney Hotel doing their thing.

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing...  Makes no difference if it's cool or hot... give that rhythm everything you've got!!
